Grand Junction, COA A winter weather advisory that brings snow and dangerous driving conditions is in effect for portions of Colorado and Utah until 6 p.m. MST on Saturday.
The Roan and Tavaputs Plateaus in Colorado are expected to receive an extra 3 to 5 inches of snow, according to the Grand Junction National Weather Service. Snowfall is forecast to persist above 7,500 feet in Utah’s Eastern Uinta Mountains, with an accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Whiteout conditions can result from winds that reach 45 mph.
Particularly at higher elevations, drivers should be ready for slick roads and diminished visibility. Travel through Saturday evening may be impacted by the dangerous circumstances. Authorities advise drivers to exercise caution and slow down.
