Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Authorities said that a Columbia man was arrested earlier this month and that more than $284,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana were seized as a result of a joint Lancaster County Drug Task Force (DTF) and Homeland Security Investigations investigation.
After a search warrant was obtained at his home on the 800 block of Blunston Street on October 4, Roderick Gonzalez-Perez was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After a package with over five kilograms of cocaine was stopped en route from Puerto Rico to Gonzalez-Perez’s residence, the inquiry got underway on October 1. Law enforcement confiscated the package, which was marked for Senior Perez, and worked with the Drug Task Force to transport the cocaine to the suspect’s residence. Gonzalez-Perez retrieved the item and was detained without incident.
Gonzalez-Perez’s car had 1,137 grams of marijuana and an additional 888 grams of cocaine, according to a later search of the house. Authorities discovered another package containing almost two kilograms of cocaine when they executed a second warrant at the residence a few days later, on October 7.
Law officials confiscated $1,161 in cash, 1,137 grams of marijuana valued at $11,370, and 8.1 kilos of cocaine valued at $283,500.
The bond amount for Gonzalez-Perez was set at $500,000 by Judge Michael Hess. As the case continues, he stays in Lancaster County Prison.
