If You Want Something, Come Get Some : Tom Homan Responds To Threats Live On Air
Following bomb threats and swatting calls against President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks, former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director and incoming border czar Tom Homan stated on Fox News on Wednesday that he would not be intimidated by anyone who would try to harm him.
Karoline Leavitt, the incoming press secretary for the White House, disclosed on Wednesday that a number of Trump’s cabinet members and their families have been threatened with violence ever since their selections to the former president’s second government were announced. Homan claimed on The Story with Martha MacCallum that he hadn’t taken the threats seriously until he realized that other people were in risk. He also mentioned that lately, his mentality has been to obtain what you want.
First of all, thank you for what Nicole just said, but let me tell you the truth. So far, I haven’t taken this seriously. I will take it a little more seriously now that I am aware of what has transpired over the past 24 hours. Look, though, I had to deal with this when I was the head of ICE; during the first administration, I received multiple death threats. I was always accompanied by a security detail. The death threats persisted even after I retired. Homan stated, “I had U.S. Marshals protection for a long time to protect me and my family, even after I retired as the ICE director.”
The unfavorable publicity surrounding the president and the members of his cabinet doesn’t help either. “I’ve read a lot of hit pieces about me, but I’m not in the cabinet,” Homan continued. As you are aware, I am a racist and the father of family separation, among other things. Because there are certain crazy out there who will take advantage, the hate media is completely useless. We’re going to move past that, I thought, now that the elections are over. However, I’ve been adopting the mindset that says, “Come get what you want.” Because I’ve experienced this countless times.
Observe:
The former ICE director was then asked by the Fox News anchor if he would help put an end to the threats made against Democrats and Republicans after Inauguration Day.
The first role, in my opinion, is to avoid intimidation. These individuals will not intimidate me. I will not be silenced by them. I’ll do this task, you see. Homan stated, “I want to do this job because it’s a national security issue.” You won’t stop me from talking, then. I’m not leaving, and I’m going to continue doing this work and discussing the necessity of it with [the] American people.
Following his nomination as Trump’s next border czar, Homan has come under fire from Democrats and corporate media for his efforts to carry out Trump’s mass deportation agenda. But even while Democratic mayors said they would not assist Trump’s operation, Homan threatened them on Fox News Tuesday night to get out of the way or risk legal action.
