Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.At Pittsburgh International Airport’s main security checkpoint early Saturday morning, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents found a weapon in the handbag of a 61-year-old Creighton woman, who is now facing a felony charge, according to authorities.
When TSA officers discovered the pistol after a normal screening at around 5:13 a.m. on November 23, 2024, they promptly notified Allegheny County Police.
After identifying the woman as Lynda Lee, the county police concluded that she lacked a current concealed carry permit in Pennsylvania. One felony count of carrying a handgun without a license was later brought against Lee.
TSA authorities verified that travelers who bring firearms to airport security checkpoints might be subject to federal civil fines of up to $10,000, with repeat offenders potentially facing fines of up to $13,910. The incident was reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
