Dallas, Texas A series of storms is expected to move into North Texas starting Sunday evening and getting stronger until Monday night. On Sunday, there will likely be embedded thunderstorms along with scattered showers in locations north of Interstate 20.
Severe weather is expected Monday evening into Tuesday morning, especially east and along the I-35 corridor, according to the Fort Worth National Weather Service. The most powerful storms may produce devastating winds, big hail, and frequent lightning. It’s impossible to rule out a tornado or two.
Late Monday night, storm activity will increase and shift from west to east. The greatest storm coverage may occur in the vicinity of Waco, DFW, and Gainesville. Even after storms pass, gusty winds will continue, making fires more likely west of I-35.
Residents should be ready for possible power interruptions and plans to be outside being disrupted. Maintain a severe weather plan and keep up of local forecasts. Residents are urged by the NWS to stay informed as specifics about the time and intensity are still unknown.
