Washington, D.C.The arrest of a 58-year-old man who is suspected of perpetrating 12 burglaries and an unlawful entrance has put an end to a months-long spate of break-ins in areas in Northwest Washington, DC.
After an investigation into a string of early-morning burglaries that targeted establishments in the Third and Fourth Districts, Donnell Washington, of Northwest Washington, was taken into custody on November 30. Locations for the infractions ranged from 18th Street and Park Road to Mount Pleasant Street, and they took place between April and October.
Following an incident involving a Special Police Officer in the 3600 block of 16th Street on September 17, Washington was charged with assault on a police officer in addition to the burglary allegations.
The suspects in the break-ins entered businesses, stole items, and then ran away. On September 2, there was a failed burglary attempt, but in 12 other cases, goods was taken.
