Queens, New YorkThe New York Police Department revealed Tuesday that the death of a Queens man who was first discovered unconscious in his house last October has been formally declared a homicide.
On October 20, 2024, at around 10:00 p.m., 109th Precinct officers responded to a 911 call at 14-50 110th Street. Carlos Buritica, 45, was found unconscious and unresponsive on the bedroom floor of his home when police arrived.
Buritica was declared deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.
After more research, officials declared Buritica’s death to be a homicide on January 14, 2025.
The inquiry is still underway, and no one has been taken into custody.
