Washington, D.C. Two armed suspects took the van and vest of an Amazon delivery driver who was detained at gunpoint in Northwest Washington, D.C., on Sunday night before escaping the scene. The driver was making deliveries when the carjacking occurred on the 2300 block of Tunlaw Road at approximately 6 p.m.
Police said the driver was on his way to the back of the vehicle when he heard footsteps and turned to see one of the suspects pointing a gun at him. When the second, armed suspect entered the fray, they both demanded the keys to the van. One suspect also asked the driver to turn over his Amazon vest before leaving.
One of the suspects drove the van away, while the other followed in a different car in the direction of Wisconsin Avenue. Later that night, police found the stolen Amazon van; however, no one has been arrested and the suspects’ details have not been made public.
