Deputies reported that two males from Atlanta threw more than just trash out of a car window, leading to their arrest.
Washington County deputies were out on patrol near Davisboro last Wednesday when they noticed an unusually stopped vehicle. Near Washington State Prison is this highway.
Officials reported that 45-year-old Atlanta resident Byron Gearing threw a large trash bag out the window while they watched the vehicle.
Demarcus Morgan, a 27-year-old from Atlanta, stubbornly refused to pull over while deputies from Washington County attempted to execute a traffic check.
Deputies were able to bring the vehicle to a halt after a brief pursuit. Deputies discovered a plethora of illegal substances in the garbage bag during their investigation.
Those in charge detained Gearing and Morgan.
Gearing was charged with the following:
- Two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Trafficking methamphetamine
- Trading with inmates without the consent of the warden

Morgan was charged with the following:
- Trading with inmates without the consent of the warden
- Trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Fleeing or attempting to elude police
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Speeding
- Reckless driving
- Two counts of stop sign violation
- Failure to use a turn signal
- Failure to maintain lane
