Disneyland submits plans for Avengers Campus expansion prep work

Disneyland has started the backstage preparations for the Avengers Campus expansion, which will quadruple the area of the Marvel themed land at Disney California Adventure and add two new attractions.

According to municipal officials, Disneyland has filed a proposal for the preparations for the Avengers Campus expansion to the city of Anaheim, which is presently being reviewed.

Disneyland’s plan covers the parking lots, temporary trailers, and utilities that would be affected by the development in the backstage area behind Avengers Campus.

Before the city issues a demolition permission and Disneyland submits blueprints for the Avengers Campus expansion, a preparatory work plan is completed.

According to city officials, the recently authorized $1.9 billion DisneylandForward plan does not include the Avengers Campus expansion.

As part of the Avengers Campus development, work on the new Stark Flight Lab and Avengers Infinity Defense attractions is scheduled to start in 2025.

Infinity Defense by the AvengersUsing a combination of immersive media and expansive architectural environments, Dark Ride will take visitors on a world-jumping starship to distant worlds and different dimensions across the Marvel multiverse.

At the end of a robotic arm like that of an auto factory, riders will fly like Iron Man during a simulated flight at the Stark Flight Lab attraction, which will be located inside Tony Stark’s workshop.

Additionally, during the hectic Christmas season, Disneyland closes three of its attractions.

For both of the new Avengers Campus attractions, Robert Downey Jr., who will play the villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday in 2026, will return to his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
