Baltimore, Maryland. Two men were killed and at least five people were wounded during a bloody stretch on Sunday that saw shootings in several Baltimore districts. Investigations are currently being conducted throughout the city for the events, which happened on June 22 between midnight and early evening.
At 12:09 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers arrived at a nearby hospital to investigate the arrival of two female patients, ages 17 and 18, who had been shot. They were shot on the 2600 block of Erdman Avenue, detectives later concluded. Their injuries were rated as non-life-threatening.
Patrol officers from the Central District responded to a shooting in the 200 block of East Lombard Street at 2:29 a.m., approximately two hours later. After being discovered shot, a male 18-year-old was sent to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
When Southwest District police arrived in the 2600 block of Dulany Street at 3:03 a.m., they discovered a male 21-year-old who had been shot. His condition is still steady.
When a 29-year-old man arrived with gunshot wounds at 5:32 p.m., Eastern District cops were dispatched to the hospital. He was shot, according to investigators, on the 1100 block of East North Avenue.
Gunfire in the Southwest District turned deadly around 1:36 p.m. Officers found a 31-year-old man who was unresponsive and had gunshot wounds after responding to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Christian Street. Officers discovered another victim, a male 24-year-old, nearby in the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue, who was likewise not responding.
After being taken to nearby hospitals, both individuals were declared dead. The inquiry is being led by homicide detectives. No information about suspects has been made public.
Although the motivation for the two shootings is still being investigated, they are thought to be related.
