Driver killed in crash on I-495 in Prince George’s County




Oxon Hill, Maryland A tragic crash that happened early Friday morning on Interstate 495 close to the Anacostia Freeway in Prince George’s County is being looked into by Maryland State Police.

When troopers arrived on the scene at around 3:45 a.m., they discovered that a Jeep Compass had struck the back trailer of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the left shoulder. At the scene, the Jeep’s driver was declared dead.

Until the next of kin have been notified, authorities have not disclosed the deceased’s identify. Police said the tractor-trailer driver refused medical help and was unharmed.

In support of the reaction, the State Highway Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation closed the impacted lanes for a few hours. As part of the inquiry, the tractor-trailer was inspected by the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
