FALLSTON, Md. – A 35-year-old man was arrested Friday after Harford County deputies used a drone to track and apprehend him on suspicion of trespassing and possessing burglary tools, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded early Friday morning to a report of trespassing on the 2100 block of Albrook Court in Fallston, an area recently targeted by vehicle thefts. A sheriff’s office drone was launched to assist in the search, identifying a man walking on Ryan Road. Deputies were guided to the suspect, later identified as John Sawyer, of Arden Drive.
Sawyer was found carrying a window punch, pepper spray, and a concealed dirk knife, authorities said. Deputies believe Sawyer intended to use the tools to break into vehicles and steal items.
Sawyer was taken to the Harford County Detention Center and charged with trespass posted property, possession of burglary tools, and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.
After appearing before a District Court Commissioner, Sawyer was released from custody.
