Bensalem, PA—At 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Bensalem Police stopped a black Nissan Rogue on Knights Road that was malfunctioning and driving erratically. Despite having a revoked concealed carry permit, the driver, Khalil Laney, 34, of Bonsall Street, Philadelphia, denied possessing a firearm when questioned. He also showed signs of intoxication.
During a follow-up search, officers found suspected marijuana packaged for sale inside the car and a loaded 9mm handgun in Laney’s waistband. His incapacity to drive the car safely was revealed by field sobriety tests. Laney was discovered to be intoxicated, and the gun was secured.
In addition to traffic infractions, Laney is charged with DUI, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession with intent to deliver. After setting Laney’s bail at 10% of $35,000, District Justice Daniel Baranowski had him transported to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
