East Earl Township Woman Charged in 2023 Crash That Killed Two

EAST EARL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman from East Earl Township has been charged with multiple offenses, including homicide by vehicle, in connection with a December 2023 crash that killed two people in Penn Township. Authorities allege Beth Fife, 51, was driving nearly 40 mph over the speed limit when she lost control of her vehicle, leading to a fatal collision.

The crash occurred on December 1, 2023, along West 28th Division Highway. Police say Fife was driving westbound shortly before noon when her vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes, crashing into another car occupied by Allen English and Grace English-Rohrer. Both occupants of the other vehicle died as a result of the collision, which caused their car to catch fire.

According to investigators, Fife was traveling significantly over the speed limit when she lost control, leading to the fatal impact. The charges against her include two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and several traffic violations.

Fife has been released on $300,000 unsecured bail. Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Officer Alex Good filed the charges, and the case will be prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Caitlin Blazier.
