NEW YORK, NY — A man is being sought by police for allegedly throwing an 80-year-old train passenger off during a fight at a subway stop in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened at the East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station on November 20, 2024, at around 4:30 p.m. The elderly victim got into a verbal dispute with an unnamed person while he was getting on a northbound 7 train.
The victim fell onto the platform after the man shoved him from the train during the altercation. The victim was taken by Emergency Medical Services to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he received treatment for a hip injury and is currently in stable condition.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, a brown cap, and black headphones. He was described as a male with a light complexion, around 6 3 tall, and 210 pounds in weight. His whereabouts are unclear, and he stayed on the train as it traveled north.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or the name of the culprit is being asked to come forward by the NYPD.
