New Jersey’s Toms River. According to officials, a residential fire on Weeping Willow Court in the East Dover neighborhood of Toms River was swiftly put out by firefighters on Friday afternoon.
At around 2:00 p.m., crews from Toms River Fire Company 2, Island Heights Volunteer Fire Co. 1, and East Dover Fire Company arrived on the scene to see smoke and flames coming from the outside of a two-story single-family house. Firefighters contained the damage to the exterior of the house by using a 1.75-inch hose line and a water extinguisher to put out the fire.
The loss of gas and electricity services made the house dangerous to occupy, according to the Toms River Building Department. There were no reported injuries during the incident.
The Toms River Bureau of incident Prevention conducted an investigation and concluded that the incident was caused by electrified electrical equipment on the house’s side failing. It has been decided that the fire was an accident.
For further information, residents can reach Chief Inspector Janora at (732) 240-5153 or [email protected].
Firefighters’ quick response stopped more damage, but the house is still unusable.
