Fatal crash on Broad Street in Utica leaves one dead, another injured




UTICA, N.Y. According to the Utica Police Department, a car crash on Broad Street close to Bacon Street early Sunday morning killed one person and badly injured another.

Around 8 a.m., Utica Police and Fire Department emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the collision. According to officials, one of the car’s occupants was declared deceased at the site upon arrival. For emergency care, the second occupant was sent to Wynn Hospital.

The injured person’s condition has not yet been made public. Officials promised to update the public as new information became available.

The Accident Reconstruction Team of the Utica Police Department is still on the scene, examining the area to ascertain the cause of the crash. Police are warning drivers to stay away from the area as a result of the closure of Broad Street between Milgate Street and Wetmore Street.
