Fatal shooting outside restaurant leaves youth mentor dead in Upper Marlboro

MDA’s Upper Marlboro The Homicide Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department opened an investigation after a 33-year-old man was shot and killed outside a restaurant early on Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the victim, Cornelius McDonald of Upper Marlboro, was killed on November 30 at approximately 12:45 a.m. At the scene, McDonald was declared deceased.

The shooting took place in front of Largo’s Jasper’s Restaurant. McDonald was employed at a crisis center as a juvenile mentor.

The suspect, who ran away after the shooting, may have gotten into a fight with the victim before the incident, according to preliminary findings. The goal of the investigation is to find and capture the culprit.
