Fayette County Investigates Homicide of Infant; Abuse Charges Filed Against Two in Kentucky

A 3-month-old baby’s death is under investigation by the Fayete County Coroner, following reports from Lexington Police that the child was assaulted by two people.

According to a news release from the coroner, Greyson Torres was declared dead at Kentucky Children’s Hospital on October 2 after suffering severe blunt force traumatic injuries as a result of alleged criminal abuse. The death is being looked at as a possible homicide.

In addition to the abuse allegations against two individuals, there could be further charges after authorities announced the child’s death on Thursday morning.

An arrest citation states that Amancio Torres-Trevino Jr., 20, mistreated Greyson, a relative, causing major head and torso injuries along with internal ailments. Doctors declared the child’s injuries to be potentially fatal when they brought him to the hospital.

Torres-Trevino was alone with Greyson on September 29 at 2800 Alumni Drive, according to the arrest citation, and the injuries are the result of physical abuse.

In the case, 20-year-old Kaela Breann Walker is also charged. According to her arrest citation, she never tried to stop the alleged abuse or reported it to social services or police enforcement.

Both were accused of first-degree criminal abuse of a kid who was 12 years of age or younger.
