BROWARD COUNTY, FL In an attempt to overthrow the American government, federal investigators have detained a guy from Florida who is suspected of organizing a bombing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The accusations were made public on Wednesday by the Southern District of Florida U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Harun Abdul-Malik Yener, 30, of Coral Springs, Florida, is accused of trying to destroy or damage a building used for interstate commerce with an explosive device.

FBI Investigation Uncovers Bombmaking Plans

According to court filings, the FBI started looking into Yener in February after getting a tip about questionable items in an open storage facility. Agents found electrical circuit boards, bombmaking designs, multiple time-tracking watches, and other equipment that might be used to build explosive devices when they investigated the unit.

Subsequent examination of Yener’s internet activities revealed that he had reportedly been using his Google account to explore bombmaking techniques as early as 2017.

According to a confidential FBI source, Yener had shown interest in joining an anti-government militia by June. Later on, he met with an FBI undercover agent he thought was affiliated with the militia and discussed plans to target the NYSE in the week before Thanksgiving.

Alleged Plan and Motive

According to the prosecution, Yener intended to blow up the New York Stock Exchange in order to reset the government. He is accused of researching possible bomb installation areas at the NYSE and using two-way radios to build remote triggers for explosives during the past month.

Yener allegedly recruited undercover operatives to obtain the explosive ingredients required for the device, according to the FBI. In order to determine where the bomb should be planted, he also gave them the responsibility of monitoring the NYSE and capturing pictures.

Yener outlined his motivations for the attack in a taped message, foretelling that the explosion would result in devastating devastation. Yener allegedly stated that everything outside the building would be destroyed and everything within would be killed, comparing the explosion to a little nuke going off, according to the court document.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

Yener showed up in court the same day after being detained on Wednesday. While he awaits trial, he is being remanded in custody and will stay there.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by federal law enforcement to intercept and dismantle potential threats to national security. The evidence collected during the operation is still being examined by investigators.
