FEMA Assistance Applications Open for Louisiana Residents Affected by Hurricane Francine

Louisiana – FEMA has opened disaster assistance applications for residents in Louisiana affected by Hurricane Francine. Those impacted in designated parishes are encouraged to apply online or by phone to determine eligibility for financial aid.

“FEMA may be able to help with severe needs, displacement, temporary lodging, basic home repair costs, personal property loss, or other disaster-caused needs,” the agency stated in a press release.

Homeowners and renters in Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, and Terrebonne parishes may qualify for financial assistance.

How to Apply for FEMA Assistance

Residents can apply in several ways:

  • Visit disasterassistance.gov.
  • Download the FEMA App for mobile devices.
  • Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. CT. Help is available in most languages. If using a relay service (such as video relay, captioned telephone, etc.), provide FEMA with the contact number for that service.

Information Needed to Apply:

  • A current phone number for contact.
  • Your address during the disaster and your current residence.
  • Social Security number.
  • A general list of damage and losses.
  • Banking information if opting for direct deposit.
  • Insurance policy number or agent/company details if insured.
