What transpired after a Hooters waitress’s irrational attempt to talk a police officer out of a DUI arrest was seen on bodycam is embarrassing!#Sarasota, Florida, #News, #Crime
A waitress at Hooters in Sarasota, Florida, believed that her charm would help her avoid being arrested for DUI, but things swiftly went wrong. Sophia Ross, 22, went above and beyond simply trying to flirt her way out of jail. Ross’s daring attempts to win the cop over were first rejected and then ridiculed during the strange meeting, which was captured on a police officer’s bodycam. She ended up in handcuffs after what began as a playful effort at flirtation turned into an awkward altercation.
The DUI Stop and Initial Encounter
The incident happened in November when Ross was stopped for driving too fast in Sarasota. She raced over curbs and stopped at green lights, according to the police, alerting them to the problem.
Ross admitted to the police that she had consumed alcohol at a bar before to driving. She identified herself as a waitress at the well-known establishment while sporting her Hooters tank top.
Flirting with the Officer, Captured on Bodycam
Ross immediately resorted to flirtation in an effort to escape the situation as the police started questioning her.
She informed the officer, “We’re going to make out here,” but he ignored her and went forward with the sobriety check.
Ross continued to call him “daddy” despite his lack of desire, saying things like “I can’t keep my hands off you” and “I will do anything for you, daddy.”
Her actions seemed to have little effect on the police, who responded humorously, telling her that she would have to keep her distance.
Escalation: From Flirtation to Mockery
She got more aggressive after Ross’s flirtations failed to elicit the desired response. She then turned to making fun of the officer after being turned down several times.
As the officer attempted to maintain his attention on the sobriety tests, she remarked, “Bro, don’t be such a f king nerd.”
“Everything we do is recorded and anyone can see that,” the officer said calmly, reminding her that the bodycam was capturing everything. Grandma, dad, mom, and family.
Ross seems unconcerned. Do you think I care? She shot back.
The Arrest and Legal Developments
Ross’s antics became too disruptive for her to finish the sobriety tests. Rather, she was taken into custody and accused of DUI. A pretrial hearing was held Monday, and she entered a not guilty plea to the allegations.
Her driving behavior and her admission of drinking before the stop were major contributing causes to her arrest, according to the police report.
