Florida Man Accused of Hiding Body in Hotel Closet, Discovered by Officials

According to authorities, a guy from Florida is accused of concealing a dead corpse in a hotel room closet while the subsequent visitor remained in the space unaware of it.

According to an arrest document from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Dylan Lamb, 33, allegedly paid Marie Tillman, 43, for sexual services after reaching out to the woman via an escort website.

Lamb told deputies that Tillman tried to leave his hotel room at the Amoray Dive Resort in Key Largo, Florida, after he gave her $200.

He blocked the door with his body, according to Lamb, but Tillman “began striking him.” He “struck her once in the face” before Tillman collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness, the man told deputies.

When he went to “calm down” in the bathroom, he discovered Tillman had no pulse and was not breathing.

Using towels and linens to clean the room in a frenzy, the man, a kayak tour operator, claimed detectives he concealed Tillman’s body “inside the closet underneath the water heater.”

Lamb claimed that he “packed the soiled linens, towels, the victim’s cell phone, and other belongings into three separate trash bags and left them in the room when he checked out,” according to the declaration.

Deputies stated that Tillman’s injuries “were not consistent with a single strike” as Lamb had alleged. She had two black eyes, swollen and lacerated lips, and other facial injuries when deputies discovered her partially clothed corpse.

During Lamb’s stay, hotel personnel told deputies they attempted to shift him to a different room, but he would only speak when his hotel door was closed. He changed rooms after remaining in the hotel room till Sunday morning.

After Lamb left the first room, cleaning found “three large trash bags” full of dirty linens and towels inside the room. According to the description, the bags were “heavily stained with substances consistent with blood, urine, and feces.”

After discovering the bags, the housekeepers placed them in the dumpster, which was already empty when the cops came, without alerting the authorities.

The Miami Herald claims that another visitor remained in the room where Tillman’s body was kept in the closet without noticing it.

Lamb was accused of murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, deleting evidence, and procuring a prostitute, according to online documents.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay, there don’t seem to be any additional people involved.

“I want to thank the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office for working around the clock to make an arrest in this case,” Ramsay said. “While the investigation remains ongoing, there do not appear to be any other individuals involved in this incident.”

Lamb is expected to be arraigned on April 13. Tillman routinely shared posts on Facebook about her children, who she leaves behind.
