New York’s Bronx.The public is being asked to help police identify two people who were involved in a violent incident in the Bathgate neighborhood of the Bronx early on Sunday morning that injured two males.
The event happened in the NYPD’s 48th Precinct, near the back of 1880 Bathgate Avenue, at approximately 1:15 in the morning. Investigators claim that a verbal argument between a 38-year-old man and an unnamed male participant turned physical.
A 32-year-old man and another unnamed male attended the area during the altercation. The 38-year-old man was shot in the torso by the first unnamed individual who apparently pulled out a gun. According to authorities, the two unnamed men targeted the 32-year-old man as he was running away, attacking him with a gun and other weapons before removing his clothes and shoes.
The suspects then took off in a white BMW heading west on East 175th Street. Both individuals are in stable condition after surviving the tragedy. The 32-year-old victim who sustained a head laceration was brought by EMS to Saint Barnabas Health System, while the 38-year-old victim who was shot was transferred by private transport to BronxCare Health System.
As the investigation goes on, police are asking anyone with knowledge to come forward.
