Gunfire erupts outside Bronx building, no injuries reported


BRONX, N.Y.

— An unidentified man opened fire outside a residential building in the Bronx early Sunday morning before fleeing the scene, police said.

The shooting occurred at approximately 4:55 a.m. in front of 200 East 166th Street. According to the NYPD, the individual discharged a firearm multiple times, then fled southbound on Sheridan Avenue toward East 165th Street on foot.

No injuries were reported, and police have not recovered any weapons from the scene.

The motive behind the shooting remains unknown. Detectives are canvassing the area and reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify the suspect.

The individual remains at large, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating him.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.
