In Gurnee, an SUV and a school bus carrying 22 pupils collided Thursday afternoon. Around 2:10 p.m., a collision occurred near the intersection of Vineyard Drive and Mendocino Drive.
According to the police, a 34-year-old Forest Park woman’s Lexus SUV accidentally went north in the southbound lane when the school bus was heading north. The Lexus collided with the bus’s front corner as it turned left into Mendocino Drive. On collision, the SUV slid over and flipped.
The bus driver and all 22 pupils made it out safely. The bus was hauled from the scene after suffering significant damage. The Lexus driver was examined by paramedics on the site, but no additional medical care was required.
