High School Students to be Honored at Scholarship Gala


TOMS RIVER, N.J.

— The Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Scholarship Reception on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bacchus Winemaking Club on Route 37, recognizing more than a dozen local high school students who earned scholarships sponsored by area businesses and organizations.

Denise Santora, the Chamber’s director of marketing and communications, described the event as a meaningful tribute to students’ achievements and community backing.

“This special evening honors the outstanding students who have earned scholarships through our organization and Chamber members,” Santora said. “It’s always a meaningful celebration of hard work, determination, and the power of community support.”

The scholarships recognize students from several area schools, including Toms River High Schools East and South, Central Regional High School, Manchester High School, and MATES. Awards include the Digital Disruptor Scholarship to Candice Peck, the MyGuy Plumbing Scholarship to Lucas Niemierowski, and the Denise Hughes Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences to Gabriella Mesimer.

Other recipients include Leah Semanchick, Jenna Mikels, Eva Schilling, Dante Kanterezhi-Gatto, Siddhi and Riddhi Jariwala, Emma Grace Italiano, Avery Husenica, Jamie Popek, Anthony D’Antonio, and Brynn Buz. The Toms River South Business Academy Tribal Council competition winners will also be recognized, with top honors going to Riddhi and Siddhi Jariwala for their project with M&T Bank.

Event details and sponsors

Contributing organizations for the scholarships include Community Medical Center, Jersey Coast Appliance, Ocean County Artists Guild, Farro’s Tees, My Guy Plumbing, Narcissus Florals, and George P. Vanderveer American Legion Post 129, among others.
