NJ’s Jersey City.Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated Friday that a Harrison man was convicted on several counts of involvement in an armed robbery in Weehawken in 2022.
The 31-year-old Mouhamed Ba was found guilty on all counts, including second-degree unauthorized possession of a weapon, third-degree aggravated assault, fourth-degree aggravated assault (pointing a weapon), first-degree robbery, and first-degree kidnapping. Following a week-long trial before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Pascual, the decision was handed out on Nov. 22, 2024.
The allegations are related to an event that happened on January 29, 2022, where Ba used an internet marketplace to set up a meeting with a victim while pretending to be buying an electrical gadget. Instead, at the prearranged site in Weehawken, Ba robbed and stabbed the victim while brandishing a gun.
Ba might be imprisoned at New Jersey State Prison for 10 to 40 years. The date of sentencing is set on January 10, 2025.
Hudson County Assistant Prosecutors Kevin Sipe and Kristen Kinneary handled the case, and authorities say the conviction is indicative of the county’s continued efforts to pursue violent offenders.
A jury found the culprit guilty of all charges in a 2022 armed robbery, bringing justice to the crime.
