ICE, federal agencies continue crackdown on illegal aliens with criminal history in New York City

NEW YORKI According to officials, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers are still working to capture noncitizens with criminal histories, working in tandem with several federal law enforcement organizations.

The FBI, the Department of Justice, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the U.S. Marshals Service have been collaborating with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in New York and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to conduct arrests and removals.

In a statement, ICE stated, “We are also very proud to partner with our @NewYorkFBI colleagues.” Every day, these committed agents have worked alongside our police and other partners to help eliminate public safety concerns from our neighborhoods.

Federal officials stressed that they are committed to pursuing criminals who are in the country illegally. According to officials, these enforcement measures are a component of larger initiatives to improve national security and public safety.

ICE has stated that operations are still ongoing but has not provided particular information about recent arrests or removals.
