A pair from Arizona could spend up to 165 years behind bars for allegedly using phony medical equipment to defraud people.#Arizona #News #PhoenixAZ #Crime
Phoenix, A pair from Arizona has been charged in Pennsylvania with operating what officials say is a bogus medical clinic in a startling example of suspected medical fraud. The facility used ultrasound equipment to perform whole body scans, which they said was improved by cutting-edge smart chip technology. Prosecutors believe that this purported invention may identify and even treat a number of severe illnesses, which has put them in legal hot water.
The accusations, which were made public by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, presented a striking image of fraud that crossed state lines and impacted innocent victims nationwide.
A Web of Aliases and Allegations
To allegedly carry out their plan, the couple—who were identified as Mary Blakley and Fred Blakley—also employed a number of aliases. Marye Blakley, Mary Blakely, Mary Blakeley, Mary Davis, Mary Venable, Mary Cammer, Rosemary Cammer, Rosemary Davis, Yvonne Davis, and Mary Blaksley were among her many aliases. Additionally, Fred went by the aliases Floyd Blakely and Fred Blakely.
The indictment claims that the two charged clients about $300 each for complete body scans using ultrasound equipment that was allegedly improved by Mary Blakley’s own smart chip technology.
The technology did not exist or work as promised, according to the prosecution, making this a dangerous and untrue claim.
Alleged False Claims of Medical Miracles
The Blakleys allegedly made broad statements regarding their so-called smart chip technology, according to the prosecution. Allegedly, they informed patients that it could identify a broad range of ailments, including severe disorders like intestinal candida and leukemia.
The couple’s apparent claims that their equipment could carry out intricate medical procedures without surgery were even more startling. Non-invasive colonoscopies, prostate examinations, and even ECGs were performed using a simple ultrasound machine purportedly fitted with the fake chip.
However, it didn’t end there. The couple allegedly prescribed prohibited vitamins, lotions, and veterinary items as remedies using the fake scan results.
The idea that their technology could introduce a chemical called Aetheion into the body to destroy cancer cells, cleanse important organs like the brain stem and lungs, and dissolve kidney stones was one of their more ludicrous promises.
FDA Approval? Not Even Close
Neither the smart chip technology nor any of the drugs that the Blakleys prescribe to treat human ailments have received FDA approval.
According to the indictment, the couple’s surgery blatantly flouted accepted legal and medical norms, possibly putting lives at jeopardy.
Facing the Consequences
Mary and Fred Blakley may each spend up to 165 years in federal prison if found guilty of all the accusations against them, which include conspiracy to violate the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
