Champlain, New YorkRecently, several shipments of fake Tiffany & Co. jewelry were discovered by customs officials in New York. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the products would have been valued at around $30,000 if they had been genuine. CBP’s continuous efforts to prevent the introduction of counterfeit goods into the US included this discovery.

Seizures Spanning December to January

Between December 2024 and January 6, 2025, CBP personnel at the Champlain Port of Entry Cargo Facility discovered a number of questionable cargo. Upon examination, they discovered Tiffany & Co.-branded jewelry that turned out to be fake.

Due to intellectual property rights (IPR) infringement, all of the counterfeit jewelry was seized. According to CBP, if the goods were authentic, their total retail value would have been $29,989.

Protecting Businesses and Consumers

Steve Bronson, the director of Champlain Port, commended the officers’ efforts in the seizure.

According to Bronson, CBP is still essential in defending companies and consumers from the entry of fake goods.
