SALT LAKE CITY, UTA chaotic night in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah ended with a 47-year-old man in custody after police say he caused thousands of dollars in property damage while intoxicated. Authorities believe the man, Damien McNear, targeted several locations, leaving a trail of shattered glass and scratched vehicles across the city.

Police Respond to Late-Night Vandalism

Officers from the Salt Lake City Police Department were called to the Salt Lake County District Attorney s Office at approximately 9:59 p.m. on Wednesday. Responding to reports of a man breaking windows, officers arrived to find McNear allegedly in the act. He was taken into custody on-site without further incident.

Trail of Alleged Destruction

The investigation revealed McNear allegedly intentionally, but randomly damaged property at multiple downtown locations, according to police. Authorities believe he likely used a rock during the spree. Among the damaged properties:
