Bissonnette Steps In to Defend Staff at Houston s Restaurant
Bissonnette was dining at Houston’s restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, when the incident happened. The former NHL player claims that the confrontation started when staff requested a group of six guys who appeared to be inebriated to leave the restaurant. When there was a little commotion in the bar, Bissonnette became aware of the tension.
He recalled that Bissonnette felt obliged to step in when one of the males reportedly touched the manager. In his video, Bissonnette explained, “Sir, we’re going to have problems if you continue to harass and assault the staff.” In an effort to defuse the situation, he then seized the man, but things swiftly got out of hand.
A Violent Confrontation Leads to Hospitalization
After Bissonnette intervened, there was a heated altercation, and things swiftly got out of hand. Between the restaurant and the parking lot, he reported battling seven males in all. Bissonnette described how he was struck in the head during the incident and added, “I got taken down a couple of times.” He reassured his supporters that he never passed out in spite of the hits.
Following the incident, Bissonnette was able to flee the area and seek refuge at a neighboring CVS pharmacy. Due to his injuries, he was later admitted to the hospital. He assured followers that he was okay despite the cuts that were apparent on his face in his video.
Police Arrest Six in Connection with the Assault
Six guys were taken into custody by Scottsdale police in relation to the attack on Bissonnette after authorities acted swiftly to get to the scene. Sgt. Allison Sempsis of Scottsdale Police reports that six adult men and the restaurant’s management got into a fight inside the establishment.
She also mentioned that Bissonnette attempted to assist management in calming the men and persuading them to leave, but the situation worsened. Paul Bissonnette attested that the men had attacked her both inside and outside the eatery.
