Fraudulent Scheme Targets Coworkers Identities
Between August 2019 and July 2023, Tammy Cox, a Charlotte employee, is suspected of stealing the identities of at least five coworkers. The indictment claims that Cox applied for college student loans using their personal data, including Social Security numbers. According to the allegations, these loans were meant for family members rather than the coworkers whose identities were stolen.
