NEW YORK, A lady from the Bronx, New York, has been accused with placing her infant daughter in a tote bag and leaving her in danger early on Sunday morning. She turned herself up to New York City authorities a few days after the event, which gained notice when a bystander found the infant sobbing in the bag.

A newborn’s weak screams were heard by a kind Samaritan early on Sunday morning. In the Bronx, the infant was discovered in a green tote bag outside a house on Rev. James A. Polite Ave. close to E. 167th St. Mamadou Hafiz Jallow found the baby, who was thought to be just a few days old, just before six in the morning.
Jallow remarked, “I didn’t want to ruin any evidence, but it was too cold.” The infant was warm when I took it up and placed it inside the house.
The infant was later sent to Jacobi Medical Center, where Jallow’s prompt response probably saved additional damage. According to reports, her status was stable.
The Mother s Surrender
Delfina Galvez, 28, surrendered herself to the NYPD at the Bronx’s 46th Precinct station on Tuesday.
Galvez has been charged with reckless endangerment, child abandonment, and child-harming behavior. The surrender came after surveillance footage of a lady carrying a green tote bag was made public, resulting in tips from the public that helped identify the woman.
