Miami, FloridaA huge yacht rented by legendary hip-hop artist Metro Boomin caught fire early on Sunday morning while moored outside one of Miami, Florida’s most well-known strip clubs. Only half an hour after arriving at Booby Trap on the River, the 95-foot luxury yacht was consumed by fire, leaving onlookers in shock. Future, Young Thug, Travis Scott, and The Weekend are among the musicians Metro has collaborated with.
Fire Erupts Just Moments After Arrival
Metro Boomin and a number of staff members were on board when the yacht pulled up to the notorious adult entertainment establishment at around three in the morning. Club employees heard smoke coming from the boat right away, and then they heard fire alarms.
The club’s security staff, under the direction of Michael Marhefka, moved swiftly to evacuate the ten people on board out of fear for the worse. Luckily, everyone was safely evacuated just as the fire started to spread, including the hip-hop mogul and his crew.
A Massive Fire Response
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived in full force as the fire grew, sending out more than 30 units from the sea and land to fight the flames. Despite the tremendous challenge posed by the yacht’s size and fuel capacity, the firefighters put in countless hours to contain the fire.
Astonished by the soaring conflagration, spectators gathered along the riverbank; some even said the scene was unlike anything they had ever seen.
When the boat sunk into the Miami River after burning for hours, the situation became even more frightening. Thankfully, no injuries were recorded. Specialized equipment was deployed to control the fire’s oil discharge in response to the possible environmental risk.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are investigating the possible cause of the fire, but it is yet unknown what caused it.
Numerous questions remain unanswered as Metro Boomin has not yet responded to the incident. However, those who watched the spectacular scene of the enormous boat plunging into the river will undoubtedly never forget it.
