Illegal Immigrant Arrested in Tennessee for Recording Women using Truck Stop Restroom Facility Authorities

A man has been arrested by the Kingston Springs Police Department for allegedly placing a cellphone under a restroom partition at a truck stop to secretly record a woman using the facility.

The reported incident occurred on July 14th. Based on arrest affidavits, a 21-year-old individual named Eduardo Navarrette, who is an undocumented Mexican national, allegedly passed a cell phone under the partition of a stall occupied by a woman in her 20s.

The young woman mentioned to News 2 that she was traveling through Kingston Springs after leaving Nashville. She expressed her shock and disbelief at the unexpected violation of her privacy while she was using the restroom.

“I was just shocked,” the victim said. “I wasn’t expecting that at all. I was like, ‘Did that really happen?’”

Just then, a woman in her late thirties with three children walked into the restroom.

“The gentleman was running out of the ladies’ restroom, and he almost knocked me down, so it took me by surprise,” she recalled.

The mother expressed her initial confusion, wondering if she had accidentally entered the wrong restroom. However, she soon realized that she had entered the women’s restroom.

According to the mother, a young lady sitting next to her was extremely distressed, claiming that someone next to her was secretly recording her. The person had placed a camera on the other side of the barrier, causing the young lady to feel extremely unsettled.

“The young lady beside me was really upset, saying that somebody beside her was filming her; they stuck a camera on the other side of the barrier and she was really freaked out,” the mother described.

A confrontation took place between a 38-year-old and a 21-year-old, who was sitting in the front seat of a car. Interestingly, the young woman recorded the entire incident.

“That was you! This is him! He was filming her in the bathroom!” the mother yelled. “Yeah it was, I saw him! He’s filming her in the bathroom! That was you, dude! That was you! We’re calling the police! You’re going to jail!”

In the video, there is another man standing next to the driver’s side door of the car. However, the mother remains focused on discussing Navarrette, mentioning,  “Oh yeah, dude. He was filming her in the bathroom. He’s a creep. He’s a pervert. That was him.”

Based on the arrest documents, it appears that the individual fled from the truck stop. Nevertheless, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and informed the authorities that Navarrette was someone they knew.

During the search of the vehicle, authorities discovered a court document that Navarrette had received earlier that day, pertaining to his driving on a suspended license.

Despite their efforts, the suspect remained elusive as the police conducted an extensive search over the course of several weeks.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Kingston Springs officers were present at the Dickson County Courthouse in Charlotte, anticipating Navarrette’s arrival to address the suspended license violation. Upon the arrival of the 21-year-old, law enforcement promptly detained him and filed charges for violation of privacy (unlawful photography).
