Wellness Check Leads to Discovery of Woman in Critical Condition
Officers responded to a 911 call Wednesday evening and went to the 1800 block of E. Main Street, approximately 135 miles south of Chicago, to inquire about the well-being of a woman. When the Danville Police Department arrived at around 9:30 p.m., they discovered a 67-year-old woman who was unconscious and had suffered from an inexplicable physical trauma.
The woman was taken right away to a nearby hospital, where as of Thursday morning, her status was rated as critical.
Investigation Underway with State Police Assistance
Detectives are aggressively investigating the scene and handling it as if it were a crime scene, according to the Danville Police Department. The Illinois State Police are providing assistance in the investigation.
