IN NEW CASTLE, IN. After reportedly trying to strangle his mother with plastic wrap during a heated argument over unaccounted-for cash, an Indiana man is being charged with several felonies, according to the police.
According to court documents obtained by local news outlet WXIN, Dylan Moles, 27, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated violence, domestic battery, and strangulation after the attack on November 29.
According to the authorities, Moles and his mother got into a fight about $1,000 that he said she had taken from his CashApp account. Investigators claimed that as the argument turned violent, Moles tried to strangle his mother with a piece of plastic wrap before striking and kneeing her in the head.
According to reports, Moles told police that he wanted to persuade her that he wasn’t a young boy and that she couldn’t push him around, which is why he attacked her. According to authorities, Moles had been released from jail on bond for an unrelated offense just weeks prior to the alleged assault.
Authorities have confirmed that the victim survived the incident, but her status has not been made public. Moles is still being held while he awaits additional court proceedings.
