After being hit by an allegedly intoxicated driver earlier this month, New York State Trooper Nicholas Abbondola was released from Albany Medical Center and sent to a rehabilitation center to continue his recuperation. As the trooper exited the hospital on Tuesday, law enforcement personnel gathered outside to express their support.
On November 2, 2024, Trooper Abbondola suffered a serious injury while performing his duties. The New York State Police commended his tenacity and fortitude while characterizing his road to rehabilitation as lengthy. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the department noted that Nick’s unshakable commitment to serving despite hardship is incredibly encouraging.
