Kentucky Resident Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Allegedly Trying to Blow Up House

An individual is facing allegations of trying to detonate a residence in Kentucky.

A 28-year-old individual named Roque Oleivera was apprehended at a residence located on Thomas Avenue on August 16th.

Based on his arrest citation, Oleivera allegedly entered the home while intoxicated that night, engaged in a heated argument with some of his roommates, and proceeded to enter a room where he allegedly struck another roommate with a piece of wooden window framing.

Another roommate transported the victim to the hospital.

During the conversation with the victim and the roommate at the hospital, they were informed that Oleivera had made an attempt to set fire to the house.

Upon arrival at the residence, law enforcement discovered a propane tank in close proximity to a room containing a charred mattress.

According to one of the roommates, Oleivera allegedly made threats to harm everyone present and proceeded to ignite the mattress using a combination of Body Spray and a cigarette lighter. He also brought a propane gas tank with the intention of causing an explosion at the house.

Oleivera was apprehended after he appeared in the backyard.

The individual is facing charges of second-degree assault, arson, and attempted murder.
