Lake County, IL: Community Rallies for Illinois Cyclist Critically Hurt in Car Accident



Libertyville, IL – A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for Luke Nedza, a 33-year-old bicyclist critically injured in a Libertyville crash. The accident occurred last weekend near West Rockland Road and the Des Plaines River Trail.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Nedza was biking north on the trail when a Toyota Prius struck him. The collision left him with severe head trauma and other life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews transported him to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Nedza’s friends and family aim to raise $45,000 to cover his medical expenses and support his long recovery. The campaign has raised over $17,000 so far through 111 donations. Organizers expressed gratitude for the community’s help and urged more people to contribute.

Funds will go toward alleviating Nedza’s financial burdens as he fights for his life in the ICU. The community’s support is essential for his recovery.
