Cumberland, Maryland.During a violent argument over loud music, a man allegedly stormed into a bedroom and repeatedly stabbed another tenant, leaving the victim with many knife wounds and leading to an investigation into attempted murder. The suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday.
On June 24, after receiving complaints of an assault, the Cumberland Police Department arrived at a property in the 300 block of Woodside Avenue. The victim had already been taken to a hospital with severe injuries before the police arrived.
Jason Warren Allen Wormack, 38, was found by authorities at the scene with obvious bloodstains on his clothes. He was apprehended without any problems.
According to investigators, the victim’s complaint about loud music sparked the argument. After that, Wormack allegedly went into the victim’s room and started a knife attack. The victim was able to get away and get assistance.
Suspect Arrested on Several Felonies
Wormack is being held pending his Initial Appearance at the Allegany County Detention Center after being taken there. Among the many allegations against him are reckless endangerment, first- and second-degree assault, and attempted first- and second-degree murder.
The victim’s current state has not been disclosed by the authorities.
