New Orleans A Cold Weather Advisory is in force until 10 a.m. on Friday, so residents of southeast Louisiana should brace themselves for freezing temperatures overnight. If precautions are not taken, wind chills between 15 and 25 degrees could cause hypothermia or frostbite.
The New Orleans metro region will have evening lows of 31 degrees Fahrenheit with wind gusts of up to 20 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). With a high of 48 Funder rising clouds, the cold snap is expected to last till Friday.
Looking ahead, there is a 20% chance of showers overnight after Saturday’s sunshine and high of 56 F. The prediction indicates that Sunday will be the wettest day, with showers and thunderstorms anticipated, particularly in the afternoon.60% probability of rain with a high of about 54 degrees Fahrenheit.
The sky clears on Monday, with highs of 64°F, then heats up to 71°F on Tuesday. Residents should get ready for a rainy Sunday and wear warm clothing for the next 24 hours.
