Pennsylvania’s Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General said Wednesday that Stanley Sabatel, the head of a methamphetamine trafficking network in Luzerne County, had been found guilty of many felonies and given a sentence ranging from 16 to 33 years in prison.
A jury in Luzerne County found 26-year-old Sabatel guilty of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver. Sabatel was a major supplier, according to the prosecution, supplying pounds of methamphetamine to street-level traffickers throughout Luzerne County.
Attorney General Michelle Henry praised the cooperation of the Pennsylvania State Police, local law enforcement, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for dismantling the operation, saying that this sentence is not only holding the defendant accountable for his crimes but also a significant step towards making our communities safer.
Authorities claimed that by routinely supplying large amounts of methamphetamine to distributors in the area, Sabatel and a co-conspirator played a crucial role in sustaining the trafficking network’s supply chain.
Deputy Attorney General Thomas Hogans, Chief Deputy Attorney General Angela Sperrazza, and Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Hardik prosecuted the case.
