Major New Jersey Highway Buckles Under Extreme Heat Causing Traffic Delays

New Jersey’s Oakland. Due to high heat-induced roadway buckling, the NJ DEP has issued a traffic advisory alerting drivers to the possibility of major delays on I-287 Southbound.

Repairs are anticipated to be finished by 1:00 p.m., and the New Jersey Department of Transportation is working to reopen the impacted lanes.

As a result, officials expect traffic congestion in the Oakland area to grow.
