Man, 21, fatally shot in Capitol Heights; police offering $25,000 reward




Maryland’s Capitol Heights.The shooting death of a 21-year-old man in the unincorporated area of Capitol Heights on Sunday night is being looked into by Prince George’s County Police. After being taken to a hospital, the victim, Christian West of Hyattsville, was declared dead.

At around 7:50 p.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 5000 block of Lee Jay Court. When they arrived, they discovered West outdoors, shot. Shortly after reaching the hospital, he passed away from his wounds, according to the authorities.

Since the investigation is still underway, detectives have not yet identified a suspect or determined a motive.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered by Prince George’s County Police for information that results in an arrest and indictment in this case.
