Man accused in Emmaus stabbing found dead in Allentown creek

Pa.’s Allentown.According to investigators, a Bethlehem man who was accused of stabbing his fiancée during a domestic argument in Emmaus was discovered dead in Jordan Creek last week.

Police claim that on December 18, Daniel Leibensperger, 35, stabbed his girlfriend Nicole Goeppert in the back with a pocket knife, leading to his being wanted on counts of aggravated assault. When police got at the scene of the event, they discovered Goeppert with the knife still stuck in her back at an apartment on Emmaus’ Minor Street.

Because Leibensperger left the scene after the incident, authorities filed a criminal complaint and began looking for him. Leibensperger’s body was found partially submerged in Jordan Creek close to the 1200 block of North 6th Street in Allentown on December 26, which was almost eight days later.

According to reports, a bystander discovered the body and called the police. No proof of third-party participation in Leibensperger’s killing has been found by Allentown Police Department investigators. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

According to Goeppert, she was making supper when she and Leibensperger got into a heated disagreement that led to the stabbing. She fell to the ground after the blow, according to the authorities, and discovered she was hurt. Her condition has not been made public since she was taken to a hospital.
