Man arrested after attempted stabbing inside DC business

Washington, DC A 26-year-old man has been taken into custody in relation to last week’s attempted stabbing of two employees at a business in Northwest Washington, DC.

The suspect entered a store in the 1700 block of Corcoran Street NW on Monday, January 1 at around 9:00 p.m., even though they had been previously forbidden from the area. The guy brandished a knife and tried to attack both employees after one of them alerted a security guard. The suspect left the scene, and neither was hurt in the assault.

Warran Welcome of Northwest DC was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife) on Monday, January 6.

Police attributed the prompt identification and capture of the case’s culprit to their investigation.
